Petra Archeological Park Ecological and Natural Heritage Baseline Assessment and Management Plan Development
The envisaged assignment is component of the “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation in the Tourism Sector Development in Jordan” Project. The project is also implemented by four other national entities namely, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA), the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (MoMA), the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).
The Main Goal of the Assignment is "to assess the ecological/natural heritage and socio economic values and attributes of the Petra Archeological Park as a potential site for inclusion in the National Protected Areas Network, and the preparation of its natural heritage management plan for PAP and its buffer zone as an integral component of the comprehensive management plan for the World Heritage Site".
