This project consists of attached residential villas, mosque, services, small market and a community center. The design emerged from the Islamic heritage, which can be easily read through the urban morphology of its plots, the streetscape, the use of natural elements such as vaulted ceilings, palm trees, and the use of authentic Islamic architectural vocabularies like arches, doraqa’ah, Mashrabeyya, and shokhshikhas.
The design aims to create a sense of continuity through the continuous stone facades giving this project its unique identity. It also aims to create an environmental friendly neighborhood through the use of shading (pergolas and tents), narrow alleys, trees, and compacted buildings to maximize the use of land.
